So we've been discussing this on the discord throughout the day, but I figured I should make a more focused thread for this so others can read too.

More specifically, non-prefire speedshots where you are falling faster than 1100u/s
Speedshot like this are performed by:
1: Being within 10 units (someone correct me if im wrong) of the ground the tick before you land.
2: Shooting a rocket on that tick at the right angle. (Again correct me if im wrong)
If you are too high above the ground on the tick before you land the rocket will not reach the ground in time and you wont get the ss. Humans have no way of controlling how high above the ground they are on a given tick, so these landtick speedshots are effectively random.
The fix I am suggesting would change your height the tick before you land so that a rocket shot on the right tick will always give an ss. (given you have the right shooting angle)
I do not want to make the timing window for any ss larger than it is currently, I just want a change similar to the edgebug fix.
Currently the only thing stopping people from doing more speedshots like this is that no wr that could benefit from this is optimized enough to require it. I would like to fix this kind of speedshot before rj becomes optimized enough that people are forced to go for an inherently random technique.
If people don't agree with this change I would almost suggest removing this kind of landtick speedshot entirely. Although I am hesitant to recommend that since they are fun for tas.
I personally view this technique in the same way as edgebugs, but possibly less consistent, since the faster you fall the lower your chances.
maxxy and crackuhjax have brought up that this change would incentivise people to go for this kind of speedshot more.
I think that this wouldnt be a big promblem, mostly because there are already many speedshots where you are falling slower than 1100 u/s that people dont go for. The whole point of this change would be to make it not terrible to go for. Because if enough people play, you will eventually have to go for one as times get more optimized. Even if you get rid of the postition aspect of landtick speedshots, they are still far more difficult than regular speedshots.
